Discover Nordic

The thermal cycle

The Nordic Tradition is an ancestral ritual originating from Finland. Also known as thermotherapy, this ritual consists of alternating hot, cold and relaxation in order to reach a high level of well-being. There are numerous benefits and to maximize them, we recommend repeating this 3-step cycle at least 3 times during your visit on our site.

Hot

Choose a source of heat, a Californian bath, the steam crypt, the Russian banya or a sauna and enjoy it for 10-20 minutes, depending on your tolerance. The goal is to store as much heat as possible in your body.

Cold

After heating up, cool down in one of our cold plunges or in the river itself. Immersing your body in cold water will cause the pores of your skin to shrink, eliminate toxins and activate your blood circulation. To feel the benefits throughout your entire body, we suggest that you soak yourself from head to toe. It only takes a few seconds and it’s done.

Relaxation

Whether you choose to spend this period inside or outside, this step is a crucial part of the thermal cycle. As a result of the ‘Cold’, your body is stimulated, your blood circulation is activated and your heart rate is raised; relaxation is about giving your body the time it needs to return to its natural state before repeating the ritual.
